pizza dough

This dough is my favourite it can be used for many purposes; mainly I use it to make pizza crust, cinnamon rolls, croissant, cheese balls and many other stuff that aren’t on top of my head at the moment.

For the dough I used:

5 cups of flour
2 tbsp instant yeast
2 tbsp sugar
2 cups of warm water (or you can replace1 cup of water with 1 cup with milk)
1 tsp salt

Kneading the dough is prepared in 2 steps

1st Mix the sugar, yeast, water salt and 2 cups of flour together and leave it for 10 minutes in a warm place.
2nd mix the 3 cups of flour left with the mixture and knead well for 10 minutes.

leave the dough to rest for 30 minutes and then you can use it the way you want.

Per-heat oven at 350*F

Börek

It's one of my favourite turkish pastries it's sooo yummy and easy to do too

for the Börek we need :
1 lb phyllo pastry
1 table spoon of olive oil
2/3 cup of milk
2 eggs
1tsp of salt
1/2 cup of luke water
and a pyrex to bake the borek in

Here i used spinach and feta cheese filling

so for the filling is used:
1 bag of fresh chopped spinach
1 chopped onion

1 tbsp of olive oil
1/2 cup of feta crumbled cheese
salt and pepper

for the filling: put olive oil in the pan and fry the onions for less than a minute then add the spinach , salt and pepper. cook spinach till for 10 minutes.

then prepare the liquid that will be used between the phyllo layers by mixing the olive oil, eggs, water and milk together in a bowl.

as by now all the ingredients are ready we can start making the borek
  1. grease the pyrex
  2. put 2 layers of phyllo and then brush it with the olive oil, eggs, water and milk mixture . keep on layering till u have 7 layers.
  3. spread the spinach and feta cheese evenly
  4. add some phylo layers and then fold the phyllo edges then add all the remaining mixture on top
  5. pre-heat oven at 350* F

1st fondant cake

This cake is actualy my first fondant cake which i made for a friend of mine on her bridal shower. I was quite surprized by how it turned though it might not seem perfect for some. But meh it's my first try. It was a moist chocolate cake covered with vanilla butter cream.

For the cake is used:

2 cups all purpose flour
2/3 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 cups brown sugar
2 extra large eggs
2 cups whole milk
½ cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
mix all the ingredients together
pre-heat the oven at 325*
bake for 20 to 35 minutes

and as for the butter cream i used :

1 cup of butter softened

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1b. powdered sugar

1-3 teaspoons milk

1. Using a mixer soften the butter & vanilla

2. Add sugar gradually to butter & sugar

3. fo a little creamier texture add a teaspoon of milk and beat on high until you get the right texture.

As for the fondant i used Wilton Ready-to-Use Rolled Fondant

Thats the cake after i covered it with fondant icing
